A country of spectacular landscapes and abundant wildlife, Zimbabwe is surrounded by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique and is flanked by the lifegiving Zambezi and Limpopo rivers.

With its fascinating and often turbulent history, first as a British colony (Rhodesia) and then as an independent republic, Zimbabwe is one of southern Africa’s lesser visited nations, something that makes it all the more appealing, it’s landscapes free of any but the most adventurous travellers.

In the midst of these wild landscapes are national parks like Hwange, home of the Big 5 and over 400 species of birds, which offers a spellbinding safari experience, while cruising on either of Zimbabwe’s major rivers is a wonderful way to see both the wilderness and the wildlife that calls it home.

Zimbabwe’s biggest attraction is, of course, Mosi-oa-Tunya or ‘the smoke that thunders’, Victoria Falls. One of the natural wonders of the world, standing in its mists, hearing its roar is surely on the bucketlist of many a traveller.
