Friendly efficient service

Having just come back from our China holiday we can honestly say we had a fantastic time. I don’t think we could have experienced China without going on a tour, the language barrier and the vastness between cities would have been too stressful. Thankfully we had our wonderful guide Felix with us to handle all the stress ensuring our group of 17 were able to follow his lead and for the most part stay together as “sticky rice”. We did have some people who didn’t get off the train in time but Felix did everything he could to ensure they got safely back to us and on the boat for our Yangtze Cruise. Highlights - The Great Wall even though it’s hard slog 5 of us managed quite the climb and it was worth it. The Pandas 💕 the food! I have never eaten so much and the Chinese people very inquisitive and wanting to talk to you and have photos with you. All very friendly. Highly recommend this tour but maybe not July the Chinese people were on holidays so very busy, however being with our guide enabled us to fastrack most questions and the days were “hot and steamy”. Once again Felix our guide deserves 5 stars himself, thank you.

Well organised. Plenty of time to enjoy all excursions without being rushed.

I have only just book my first trip with Wendy Wu. The travel consultant was friendly and helpful. Went to their travel show and got a discount. I booked with then because of very favourable reports from friends who had travelled with them

The tour was fantastic from the guide who was very professional caring & understanding. She went beyond what would be needed for a tour guide. In my opinion the hotels were great, local cuisine was fantastic. The only issue was it was very hot and humid not the tour companies‘s fault I would probably pick a different time to travel because the humidity was tough. Everything was excellent and I highly recommend this to up to anyone.

I made two phone calls to customer services (Julia) enquiring about the Glories of China Tour. Julia was very helpful and understood the concerns I had about logistics. She was able to allay those concerns and provide reassurances . This was extremely helpful and has allowed me to progress to a booking . Excellent customer services help .

It is simply impossible to pick out the highlight of this trip as everything was so wonderful. The excursions and evening entertainments surpassed anything I could have imagined and will live with me for years to come. The tour guide pulled the group together as a family and ensured everyone enjoyed their trip.

I have had a couple of conversations including a Zoom call with staff from Wendy Wu and two of them were very pleasant, helpful and informative. However, the person I spoke to you yesterday when I booked seemed somewhat brusque, indifferent and not particularly interested in answering my questions which was disappointing.

We have only just booked a tour with this company but we were very impressed by the level of service and Marks ability to arrange our requirements. We are very happy and looking forward to our future tour.

Once I was in contact with a service agent, the service was very good. However, prior to me making the contact by phone, I had tried to communicate with an agent via email and did not receive a response to my queries. As such, I was compelled to make the contact via phone.

Overall well plan itinerary. Room for improvement:
Too busy n full back to back schedule for the 9 days experience.
Suggestions:
Include 1 day free time for rest or self activity out of the 9 days.
Food:
Excellent 3 meals.
Observe that meals are cooked differently in Shanghai, Xian, Beijing. But is all similar. For example: eggplant nearly every day , but cook differently!

Peking duck is supposed to be the Highlight in Beijing.
But the skin is very ‘fatty’n not crispy at all. I did not enjoy the Peking duck dinner.
Excessive chillies added on the last dinner in Beijing will then lead to pple not enjoying the dinners due to over spicy taste.
Would be good to plan for 1 or 2 “no lunches”included days to reduce cost and allow for everyone to explore snacks and street food. Tour guides can recommend local foods like in Nanjing road as an example.

Too much detailed histories from some guides.On very hot days, show consideration to elderly people. Too detailed histories n information at ‘forbidden city’ n ‘Tiananmen’ on a day with high temperatures.
Terracotta Army visit was interesting and knowledgeable for me.

One recommendation:
Optional itinerary for foot or body massage to help with relaxation and promote western knowledge of Chinese ancient therapy on healing thru massages.

The groups leader, Mr Hoffman, was extraordinarily good. He was helpful, knowledgeable with a fine sense of humour. Mr Hoffman clearly loved his country and shared this passion with us.
Mr Hoffman was able to navigate areas of high tourist interest with skill, allowing us to see the beautiful sights of China in relative peace, away from the usual tourist hustle and bustle, even though this often meant early mornings. Mr Hoffman is a skilled tour guide. He was so responsive to personal needs, finding information and responding to guest’s personal needs. His skills really made the trip for us.
The use of Bullet trains gave us a wonderful opportunity to see China as it moves forward.
The trip, although fast and furious gave us an amazing insight into China, with all the sights we wanted to see.
The trip gives a great taster, leaving us wanting more.
When you go, look out for the amazing toilets, with heated seats and other ‘options’ for personal hygiene!!

Fantastic service. Excellent brochure. Fast responses to questions and very clear information. Options given to deal with our specific situation to make the best possible holiday and the most cost effective price. We had been recommended by two different friends and so far not disappointed.
