Durbar Square

View of Durbar Square, Kathmandu

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

Kathmandu’s old city is centred on the Durbar Square (durbar mean royal court), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The thriving alleyways around the square are lined with temples and crumbling old buildings whilst the square itself is flanked by royal palaces, where kings of the Malla and Shah rulers of the city reigned from, and is surrounded by courtyards and temples. There is no better place in Kathmandu to watch people go about their daily lives and soak up the vibrant atmosphere.
