Paro

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

The charming town of Paro lies on the banks of the Paro Chhu, just a short distance northwest of the imposing Paro Dzong. The main thoroughfare was only built in 1985 and it’s lined with beautifully painted wooden shop fronts and restaurants, although these maybe under threat as the town grows and multi-storey concrete buildings continue to spring up in all areas across the city.

For now though Paro remains one of the most intriguing Bhutanese towns to explore.
