Strahan Village Holidays

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

Welcome to beautiful Strahan. It’s nestled on the shores of the Macquarie Harbour and gateway to the impressive Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. It possesses an eerie convict past dating back to 1877. Strahan, pronounced ‘Strawn’, was an important port village serving fishing fleets and as an access point for loggers in the surrounding forest.

The village serves as a gateway to the Gordon River and the West Coast Wilderness Railway which runs between Strahan and Queenstown. The railway follows the well beaten path of Tasmania’s convict loggers and miners through the depths of the rainforest.

The heritage buildings of Strahan Village line the streets. Today, it is renowned for its picture-perfect scenery and artisan goods and produce. Delight your tastebuds as you walk its streets and taste test the many local specialities.
