This concise itinerary features China’s three most popular experiences. Walk on the Great Wall to appreciate 2,000 years of history, see an entire army of Terracotta Warriors and visit the endangered Giant Pandas. With many other sights in Beijing, Xian and Chengdu as well, this is the perfect week in China.
This tour finishes in Chengdu which is the perfect gateway for visiting other areas in China. Consider adding: Lhasa Short Stay, Tibet Short Stay, Nine Villages Valley, Kunming & Lijiang, Guilin Short Stay, Shanghai Short Stay or a Hong Kong Extension.

Days 1-2 : US - Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing, China’s capital city.
Day 3 : Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, which has the largest and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. We also visit the unique Temple of Heaven. Our evening meal includes the local delicacy, Peking Duck.
Day 4 : Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town as well as a visit to see the superb antiquities and fine arts of the Shanghai Museum, which houses more than 120,000 pieces of bronze, ceramics, paintings and calligraphy. We also walk along the famous Bund with its colonial architecture and explore the restored Xintiandi area with its unique 1920’s style shikumen buildings. Later we indulge in some shopping along Nanjing Road. In the evening, enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River, where the historic Bund and the futuristic Pudong come face-to-face.
Day 5 : Beijing - Xian
Fly to Xian, the former ancient capital and take a walk on the Ancient City Wall, one of the best preserved in China. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Shui Jiao dumpling meal followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing.
Day 6 : Xian - Chengdu
Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century – the Terracotta Warriors. The figures were created over 2,000 years ago to accompany Emperor Qin Shihuang into the afterlife. Fly to Chengdu.
Day 7 : Chengdu
Travel to Leshan to visit the Grand Buddha, the world’s largest stone-carved Buddhist statue. We take a short boat trip to view the statue from the river. The carving of the Buddha into the side of Lingyun Mountain began in 713AD and was completed in 803AD. Return to Chengdu, visiting the old town of Huanglongxi en-route. Enjoy a delicious Sichuan meal in the evening.
Day 8 : Chengdu
Visit the famous Panda Reserve to see these adorable animals being reared in wooded surroundings reminiscent of their natural habitat. There is also the opportunity to get involved in some of the conservation work such as feeding and cleaning the pandas. This Panda Experience is at additional cost and must be pre-booked. Later, explore Wuhou Temple with its attractive gardens and also stroll along the ancient Jinli Street.
Day 9 : Chengdu - US
Fly to the US, arriving home later the same day or the following morning depending on flight schedules.

Begin with a ferry ride across the Victoria Harbour to Silvermine Bay to visit beautiful Cheung Sha beach and Tai O Fishing Village. Then travel to Ngong Ping Plateau to see the Giant Buddha and explore Po Lin Monastery where you'll enjoy a vegetarian lunch. Later, visit Ngong Ping Village before a ride aboard the Skyrail cable car. (B,L) If the cable car is canceled due to weather or any other reason, alternative transportation will be arranged.
